Suggested Modeling Guidelines, and Advice for Models

I am working on two documents:

  • a set of guidelines for the rights and responsibilities of both models, and artists who work with models. I hope to have these guidelines adopted as the Willamette Art Models Guild official statements regarding how models should be treated, and how they should perform their job. This is actually a set of four documents:
    • a general statement of guidelines
    • a pamphlet for art instructors
    • a pamphlet for art students, or individual artists within groups
    • a pamphlet for models

  • a more detailed booklet for models, on how to be a model. I hope to produce this, eventually, as a formatted booklet with some attention to layout as well as content. It may eventually include, or be supplemented by, a pictorial guide for poses.
Both of these documents are currently in draft form; I welcome input from both models and artists. Please send comments to me at

You can send me hard-copy comments at: P.O. Box 6004, Portland, Oregon 97228. If you have a copy of the Willamette Art Models Guild model list, you are also free to call me with your comments.
